Fall is here, so don’t leaf these tasks undone.
The thermometer may still be showing fa;; temperatures, but winter will be here soon. Take care of these home maintenance tasks now, and your house will be ready for anything the cold weather will bring. Plus, you’ll have a jump on Old Man Winter!
Clean gutters and downspouts
Trim dead branches and cut back any limbs that could come down in a storm. (Do not cut branches near electrical lines. Report these to your power company)
Drain inground sprinkler systems, close pools and wrap exterior pipes.
Inspect weather stripping around windows and doors, repair as needed.
Have your heating system inspected and serviced.
Clean fireplace and have chimney inspected.
Replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when you change your clocks to "fall back"
